This lesson used asked students to act as detective and find the measures of missing angles.
This challenging lesson asked students to PROVE that a triangle has 180 degrees by using our knowledge of parallel lines cut by a transversal.
This important lesson introduced the concept of alternate interior, alternate exterior, corresponding and vertical angles as those that can be mapped onto one another by a specific rigid motion. We used what we know about rigid motions to prove congruence of these angles.
We introduced congruence by looking at a sequence of rigid motions that would map one shape to another.
In this lesson, we looked at several different rigid motions, and performed all sorts of transformations. Students got additional practice with difficult transformations of rotations.
We performed multiple transformations--reflections and translations. The sequence makes a difference here...
In this lesson, we look at performing more than one translation...as it turns out, it doesn't matter what in order you do these translations. We also introduced notation surrounding vectors and translations.
