Percents can be a very prickly pear. This lesson has taken us a few days to complete, but will serve us well in terms of careful reading and interpreting what it takes to solve percent problems.

This lesson took a few days to get through, and was important. We looked how to find 100% of a quantity if you knew another percent and part. We focused our attention on using double number lines as a guide.
This was a challenging lesson on percent increase and decrease. Especially where the original amount was not known.
We looked at problems involving the percent, part, and whole. We used our equation: part=percent x whole. We looked at scenarios where the percent was more than 100.
This lesson introduced students to percents. We converted percents to decimals and fractions, and focused on percents less than 1 percent and over 100 percent.
